Havre de Grace Gets Its Own Jingle: ICYMI

The city of Havre de Grace unveiled its new tune, which will be used to market the area.

HAVRE DE GRACE, MD – Not only is Havre de Grace home to multiple radio stations, it also has its own sound.

Sam O'Hare, who recently graduated from Berklee College of Music in Boston and regularly plays at local venues like the Greene Turtle, wrote a jingle for the city of Havre de Grace that debuted at Monday night's city council meeting.

Havre de Grace government spokesman John Van Gilder, who came up with the concept, said the idea was to find the "best way to market the city."

He showed some ad spots featuring pictures of Havre de Grace while the jingle played in the background.

"...as a tourism town, we're going to be able to do a lot with that," Councilwoman Monica Worrell said. "We're a unique town, and it gives us a song worthy of our own uniqueness."
