Havre de Grace Main Street Reshuffles Board
The downtown business organization came under fire after MacGregor's brought a board member's past to light.
In the aftermath of public scrutiny for having a registered sex offender on its board of directors, it appears Charles Maslin is no longer a board member with Havre de Grace Main Street.
As of June 12, Maslin's name has been removed from the list of board members on the Main Street website. He and his wife are still members of the organization at large.
Maslin was convicted of second- and third-degree sexual offenses against a minor more than a decade ago. He was released from prison in 2007 after serving seven years in jail. Maslin was unable to be reached for comment.

President of Havre de Grace Main Street Charlie Hiner said in an interview last month that the organization planned to discuss the matter after Dan Lee, the owner of MacGregor's, resigned his membership on May 15. In a letter to the board, Lee stated that "allowing a convicted felon, child molester, to sit on the board of an organization that sponsors functions that attract children is unconscionable."
Following Main Street's May meeting to discuss the matter, Hiner said he would provide a statement to Patch. Despite repeated requests for comment, the organization would not offer information.

"Once the Board has decided how to forward information, and to whom, I will contact you," Hiner wrote in an email to Patch on June 10.
Main Street met again on Tuesday, June 11, according to a blurb on its website. As of Wednesday night, Hiner could not be reached for comment.
In addition to Maslin dropping off the list of the Main Street board of directors, Scott Wallace, owner of Wonder Toys, is no longer listed.
Wallace said that he submitted his personal resignation from the board of directors last week. "I intend to focus on other endeavors—Wonder Toys, the farmers market and the seaplane base," Wallace said Wednesday. He is the co-owner of Wonder Toys, manager of the farmers market and said he hopes to reinvigorate the city's seaplane base.
