Havre de Grace Mardi Gras Parade 2017: Route, Rain Date, Participants

The tenth annual HdG Mari Gras Parade will roll through downtown on Fat Tuesday.

HAVRE DE GRACE, MD — In a nod to the city's French roots, Havre de Grace will host the tenth annual Mardi Gras Parade on Feb. 28. "The City of Havre de Grace has long embraced French heritage and culture,” Mayor William T. Martin said.

A host of local organizations will coast through the downtown district on festive floats during the Havre de Grace Mardi Gras parade on Fat Tuesday. See the full list of parade participants at the end of this article.

More than 5,000 authentic Mardi Gras beads will be thrown out to the crowd during the event, according to Havre de Grace Tourism Manager Lauri Orzewicz.

The parade starts at 6:30 p.m. on Feb. 28 on Bourbon Street at Washington Street and continues to the American Legion at 501 Saint John Street. Parts of Bourbon, St. John and Washington streets will be closed to traffic during the parade. Parking will prohibited after 3 p.m.

The Havre de Grace Office of Tourism and Historic Preservation Commission are sponsoring the parade, which is a family friendly affair. The rain date is March 3.
