Havre de Grace to 'Paint the Town Pink' in October

From the lighthouse to the quarry, HdG organizations are pitching in to raise awareness about breast cancer.

The city of Havre de Grace is kicking off its “Paint the Town Pink” campaign Friday night with a special lighting of the Concord Point Lighthouse.

The lighthouse will be illuminated with pink lights at 6 p.m. at the corner of Concord and Lafayette streets.

The city has partnered with the Upper Chesapeake Health Foundation to “Paint the Town Pink,” meaning residents can expect to see specials and events at local businesses designed to raise awareness about breast cancer and provide donations for the Kaufman Cancer Center in Bel Air (which opened in 2013 to provide cancer treatment) and the Cancer LifeNet program (which provides support for families of cancer patients).
