Havre de Grace Parade, Fireworks Schedule for 2016

More than 20 musical acts will be part of the HdG Fourth of July parade, not to mention dancers, dignitaries, floats and other participants.

Havre de Grace, MD — The Havre de Grace Independence Day celebration is happening this year a day before the actual holiday.

A parade, concert and fireworks are on tap Sunday, July 3, near Tydings Park. Sunday will also mark the last day of the carnival.

8 a.m.—Chairs will be permitted after this time along the parade route. Any chair that are set out before 8 a.m. will be removed by the Havre de Grace Police Department.

2 p.m.—Parade starts on Warren Street and North Union Avenue and continues to Tydings Park. General parking is available along the streets downtown. Limited handicapped parking is available at Tydings Park.

Other participants include dance units, local dignitaries, fire companies, floats, clowns, color guards, antique vehicles, youth groups, racing vehicles, custom cars, equestrian units and others.

3-9:45 p.m.Carnival in Tydings Park.

7:30 p.m.—Music in the City Yacht Basin courtesy of DJ Jeff Thompson.

9:30 p.m.—Fireworks will go off when it gets dark out, or at approximately 9:30 p.m., according to organizers. The light show will be launched from the island and will be visible from both Tydings Park and Concord Point.

In the event of rain, the fireworks may be postponed until 9:30 p.m. on Monday, July 4.
