Havre de Grace Takes on Rachel's Challenge
An assembly is scheduled during the school day, and another is open to the public at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
Rachel Scott was the first person killed in the 1999 shooting at Colorado's Columbine High School.
Today, her legacy lives on through Rachel's Challenge, which drives individuals to "treat others with kindness and compassion" with the goal of changing the surrounding community.
More than 1.5 million students each year are given Rachel's Challenge, and Wednesday, Havre de Grace students will join in. After student training is completed in the afternoon Wednesday, another presentation will be made Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the auditorium. That event is open to the public.
