Havre de Grace Wants Your Old Christmas Cards

Old Christmas cards will get new life in Havre de Grace this year through a project from the city and Harford County Office of Recycling.

HAVRE DE GRACE, MD — Havre de Grace is offering residents a way to get rid of old Christmas cards. The city is partnering with the Harford County office of Recycling to collect Christmas cards that people were going to either throw out or recycle.

The plan is to use the cards for a "Christmas in July" event this summer where children will make wooden ornaments out of old Christmas cards.

"We need as many as we can get!" said Harford County Program Manager Wendy Doring, who came up with the idea.
