HdG Tree Lighting Postponed, Holiday Parade is Canceled
The parade planned for Dec. 6 was rained out.

The Havre de Grace holiday parade has been canceled for 2013, and the city's tree lighting has been postponed by one day.
Originally slated for 6 p.m. Friday, the holiday parade downtown was canceled because of inclement weather, according to the Havre de Grace Office of Tourism, which reported Santa was still on his way.
"Due to the information from the North Pole’s weather station, Santa’s arrival to Havre de Grace has been changed to Saturday..." Havre de Grace Tourism announced Friday morning.
It was supposed to rain all day Friday, with up to half an inch possible in Havre de Grace, according to the National Weather Service.
Santa, who was planning to appear in the parade atop Susquehanna Hose Company apparatus, will arrive on a firetruck coming from Congress Avenue down Washington Street for the tree lighting at 6 p.m. Saturday, Tourism Manager Brigitte Peters said.
The tree lighting will take place at 6 p.m. at Rochambeau Plaza, in front of Susquehanna Lodge 130 at 215 N. Washington St.
Carolers will sing before the lighting, and there will be other music too.
A train garden will be on display at the Masonic Susquehanna Lodge 130 during and after the lighting, depicting the Concord Point Lighthouse and the R. Madison Mitchell Decoy Shop.
