Hazmat Team Responds to Ammonia Leak in HdG

The Harford County Office of Emergency Management said the incident happened in an industrial area.

An ammonia leak drew the hazmat team and firefighters to an industrial area of Havre de Grace Tuesday morning, according to Harford County Emergency Management.

After 6 a.m., crews were called to 1750 Clark Road off Old Bay Lane, where there was an incident involving hazardous materials.

Harford County Emergency Manager Rick Ayers reported that the Susquehanna Hose Company and Harford County hazmat team were helping to off-load ammonia at Tanner Industries.

Tanner Industries is an ammonia distribution company.

Ayers said: “There is no threat to citizens or businesses off-site.”

By 10 a.m., the scene had been cleared, according to emergency management.
