HdG Attic Fire Under Investigation
A fire on Girard Street Saturday morning drew nearly two dozen firefighters from the Susquehanna Hose Company, officials said.

HAVRE DE GRACE, MD — The cause of an early morning fire in Havre de Grace is under investigation. The fire was traced to the attic but its exact cause is unknown, according to the Office of the State Fire Marshal.
Crews were dispatched at 4:29 a.m. on Saturday to the 700 block of Girard Street, where officials said those inside the single-story home discovered the blaze.
Approximately 20 firefighters responded from the Susquehanna Hose Company and brought the fire under control within 20 minutes, according to authorities.

There was $25,000 in structural damage, officials said, and $25,000 worth of items inside the home were lost as well.
Nobody was injured.

According to the fire marshal, there was a smoke alarm in the house; however, it did not activate. The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
