HdG Chamber Hosts 'Meet the Candidates' Event
The Havre de Grace Chamber of Commerce encourages voters to get educated before the May election.

So far, four people will headline the "Meet the Candidates" luncheon hosted by the Havre de Grace Chamber of Commerce next month.
As of March 15, four candidates have filed to run in the city's May election: Tom Barnes and former city councilman Fred Cullum for city council; and incumbent Wayne Dougherty and former city councilman Jim Miller for mayor.
There is still time for those interested in joining the race. The deadline for candidates to file is March 19.

By the time the Havre de Grace Chamber of Commerce hosts its "Meet the Candidates" lunch on April 11, all registrations will be in for the race, which includes one mayoral and three council spots.
The Havre de Grace Chamber of Commerce does not endorse candidates, it said in the invitation to the nopartisan event. Its luncheon is designed to support voter awareness and promote involvement.

There will be a drawing for questions from the audience, so attendees are encouraged to bring their inquiries.
Political signs, banners and distribution materials will be prohibited.
The "Meet the Candidates" luncheon will be at the Bayou Restaurant (927 Pulaski Highway) from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, April 11. Cost is $17 and reservations are required. Call the Chamber of Commerce at 410-939-3303 to buy a ticket.
