Churchgoer Assaulted On Union Avenue: HdG Crime

A sibling assault was one of the recent crimes in Havre de Grace, police said.

HAVRE DE GRACE, MD - The Havre de Grace Police Department provided the following information about recent incidents. Arrests do not indicate convictions.

A man was assaulted while leaving church around 1:30 p.m. on Sept. 3. He was in the 500 block of North Union Avenue when he exchanged words with the suspect, whom he knew, before the suspect hit him with an object. The victim was treated by medics for minor abrasions and did not wish to file a report with police.

A man was charged in an assault on his girlfriend in the 900 block of Chesapeake Drive at 10:25 p.m. on Sept. 1. The man from Middletown, Delaware, was charged with second-degree assault and released on Sept. 2. The victim was referred to SARC.

A 51-year-old from the 700 block of Fountain Street was charged with second-degree assault on his brother. He was served a criminal summons at 10:55 p.m. on Aug. 31 and was processed, then released.

A wallet containing a driver's license was taken from a vehicle in the 1100 block of Chesapeake Drive. The theft was reported at 3:37 p.m. on Sept. 4.

A red and white mountain bike was stolen from the 400 block of South Washington Street, reported at 2:50 p.m. on Sept. 1.
