HdG Driver Injured In I-95 Chain Reaction Crash: Police
Police said a Havre de Grace woman was one of six injured in a major crash Monday night caused by a tractor-trailer on Interstate 95.

HARFORD COUNTY, MD – Six people were hospitalized after a chain-reaction crash on Interstate 95 in Harford County Monday night, according to police. Before midnight, officials said a tractor-trailer hit several vehicles on I-95 north near the exit for MD 24 as it drive into a construction zone.
The crash resulted in a more-than-six-hour closure of northbound I-95, during which time police said traffic headed north was diverted onto MD 24.
Two teenagers and four adults, including one woman from Havre de Grace, received medical treatment, police reported.

Cierra Wilder, 23, of Havre de Grace, was taken to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center following the multi-vehicle crash, according to Maryland State Police.
She was driving a white Nissan Sentra in the second-from-the-left lane on I-95 north past the MD 24 exit, police said.

Based on preliminary investigation, police said a white 2011 Volvo tractor pulling a 53-foot trailer containing roof shingles caused the chain-reaction crash when it drove into a construction zone in the far left lane at mile marker 78.1. Investigators said that the tractor-trailer had been in the third lane from the left at mile marker 78.
The driver of the tractor-trailer – John Terry Jr., 23, of Henderson, North Carolina – declined medical treatment at the scene, police said. Charges are pending, officials reported Tuesday.
In addition to the Havre de Grace driver's Sentra, police said two other passenger cars were hit in the crash:
- A black 2008 Honda Civic was hit. Driver Paul Manion, 39, of Belcamp, was taken to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center. His front-seat passenger Angela Manion, 37, of Belcamp, was taken to Upper Chesapeake Medical Center. The back-seat passenger, a 14-year-old girl from Belcamp, was taken to the pediatric intensive care unit at Johns Hopkins Hospital.
- A black Toyota Camry was hit. Driver Carla Ortiz, 50, of Chesilhurst, New Jersey, was taken to Johns Hopkins for treatment. Her front-seat passenger, a 13-year-old girl from New Jersey, was taken to the pediatric intensive care unit at Johns Hopkins.
Another tractor-trailer, a white 2008 International truck tractor, was also hit in the crash, according to officials. Police said the driver of the 53-foot enclosed box trailer, Bruce Hurst, 62, of Runnemede, New Jersey, and his passenger, Lateesah Whitely, 27, both declined medical treatment.
Emergency medical personnel from Harford County, troopers from the JFK Highway Barrack, the Maryland State Police CRASH Team and personnel from its Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division responded to the incident.
