BREAKING: One school will be closed in Havre de Grace on Monday, March 5, according to Harford County Public Schools.

HAVRE DE GRACE, MD — Power outages have impacted school for some students in Havre de Grace. School officials announced the closure Sunday evening.
Due to a lack of power, Havre de Grace Elementary School will be closed on Monday, March 5, according to Harford County Public Schools.
Nearly 6,900 BGE customers were without power in Harford County as of 10 p.m. on Sunday.

The nor'easter Friday knocked out power to more than 400,000 BGE customers in Maryland.
While the utility company said most were expected to have their power back on by Sunday night, an outage in the area of the elementary school on South Juniata Street has been ongoing since Friday afternoon.

According to BGE, "final repairs to pockets of more heavily damaged areas" may continue until the middle of the week.
Winds gusts were as high as 62 mph in Havre de Grace on Friday night, according to the National Weather Service.
By Saturday morning, there were more than 30,000 outages reported in Harford County, and County Executive Barry Glassman had declared a state of emergency.
Part of the roof at Havre de Grace High School blew off, but that school is expected to open.
