HdG First Fridays To Kick Off Season On April 6
First Fridays for 2018 begins tonight, on Friday, April 6, in Havre de Grace.

HAVRE DE GRACE, MD — It's the first Friday in April, and people will be taking to the streets of downtown Havre de Grace for the city's first street festival of the season. First Friday will be from 5 to 9:30 p.m. on Friday, April 6.
Streets will be closed around the merchant district for the occasion, and the area will transform into a pedestrian thoroughfare. Impacted streets will be Washington, St. John and Franklin.
More than 40 vendors will be set up, and there will be sidewalk sales, outdoor seating, live music, a family-friendly zone and other entertainment.

The Havre de Grace Alliance recommends paying a visit to Moon & Sea Creations, located at the cottage at 433 St. John Street; the healing gemstone jewelry and accessories store will celebrate its last First Friday at this location before moving to a new spot on Franklin Street. For April's First Friday, the shop will be offering a spring sale, door prizes and light refreshments. It's open until 8 p.m.

Parking is available on streets surrounding the festival. Latecomers are advised to consider parking near the Havre de Grace Library on Union Avenue near Pennington or by Hutchins Park in the 200 block of Congress Avenue.

Several organizations will be around selling tickets to upcoming events. Here are a few:
- The Joseph L. Davis American Legion at 501 St. John Street will be selling tickets to its spring fling, which is set for April 28. Tickets are $40 per couple and include dinner and raffle entry.
- The Lock House Museum will be selling tickets at Coakleys at 406 St. John Street for the April 14 Lock House Craft Beer & Wine Festival. Tickets are $35; if buying tickets at First Friday, cash only will be accepted. Ticket prices at the gate to the event on April 14 will be $40.
- The Susquehanna Hose Company will be raffling off tickets to an Orioles game. Stop by on Pennington Avenue; raffle tickets are $1, and a drawing will be held at the company's April 21 pit beef sale. Tickets are for a box at the Orioles-Tigers game on April 28.
