HdG Hosts Human Trafficking Awareness Training

A course to educate people how to identify signs of human trafficking is slated for the Havre de Grace Community Center.

HAVRE DE GRACE, MD — The Havre de Grace Police Department will co-sponsor a training this week about human trafficking. Designed to educate the public about the issue that is known as modern-day slavery, the course will be presented in collaboration SARC (Sexual Assault/Spouse Abuse Resource Center) of Harford County.

The course will provide an introduction to the public on human trafficking and sex trafficking.

Attendees will learn signs of trafficking and how to prevent it. SARC's Community Educator Nicole Blanchard will be the presenter.

SARC provides support in Harford County for the potential victims as well as survivors of domestic violence, sexual violence, child abuse and stalking.

Due to the nature of the subject matter at the trafficking presentation, it may not be suitable for children.

The human trafficking awareness training will take place at 6 p.m. on Thursday, April 18, at the Havre de Grace Community Center, 100 Lagaret Lane, Havre de Grace, MD 21078.
