HdG Main Street Seeks 100 Volunteers for Graw Days

Can you give three hours to make a difference? Havre de Grace Main Street wants your help.

The seventh annual Graw Days festival, sponsored by Havre de Grace Main Street, is coming up in a matter of weeks, and the organization could use a hand. Or 200 hands.

The daylong event that pays tribute to the city’s old racetrack—called “The Graw”—will take place from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 11. It includes many activities, including a musical revue at the old opera house, street vendors, historic presentations, children’s activities and tours of the old racetrack site (currently the National Guard facility) via horse-drawn carriage.

Main Street said Thursday that it’s looking for more than 100 volunteers to help out with Graw Days, stating in its call for volunteers: “Give 3 hours! Make a difference!”
