HdG Man Sentenced to 41 Years in Aberdeen Officer Shooting
A Havre de Grace man pleaded guilty to attempted murder in the shooting that injured an Aberdeen policeman in December.

Aberdeen, MD — The man accused of shooting an Aberdeen policeman in the face over the winter will spend decades behind bars, according to the Aberdeen Police Department.
Tyler Testerman, 22, of the 800 block of Tydings Road in Havre de Grace, was sentenced Monday to 78 years in jail with all but 41 suspended, to be served in the Maryland Department of Corrections.
The first five years of his sentence are mandatory without the possibility of parole, police reported.

Testerman pleaded guilty to attempted second-degree murder in the shooting of Officer Jason Easton and for conspiring to commit first-degree assault of an Aberdeen resident, according to authorities.
Since the shooting on Dec. 4, 2015, Testerman has been held at the Harford County Detention Center without bail, court records show.

Police said Easton was speaking in the backyard with someone who reported a threat in the 500 block of Ohio Court when a shot was fired from the tree line after 2 a.m. on the day of the crime.
Easton was shot in the face and flown to shock trauma, where police said he was operated on for a wound that left projectiles in his eye.
Police said Tuesday that he is continuing to recover from his injury before returning to full duty.
