HdG Man Tried To Kill His Mother: Police

A man faces attempted murder charges after he allegedly tried to smother his mother with a pillow in their Havre de Grace home.

HAVRE DE GRACE, MD — A Havre de Grace man has been charged with attempted murder and other offenses after his mother reported he tried to smother her.

Martin Krajewski, 39, of the 700 block of Teal Court, was taken into custody before 8 p.m. on Memorial Day, police reported on Wednesday, June 7. Court records show he is being held without bail.

According to police, Krajewski and his mother both lived at a house on Teal Court, where he grabbed a pillow in her bedroom and put it over her face; she lost consciousness and when she awoke, her son was gone.

She went upstairs to notify the owner of the home, who also lived in the residence, and authorities said the homeowner called 911 at 12:19 p.m. on Monday, May 29.

The victim was taken to Harford Memorial Hospital for treatment of her injuries.

At 7:53 p.m. on Memorial Day, Krajewski's friend entered the lobby of the police station in the 700 block of Pennington Avenue and told officers that he was in the parking lot.

Krajewski has been charged with attempted second-degree murder, first-degree assault, reckless endangerment and second-degree assault. Police said the investigation is ongoing.
