HdG Man Wins $20K Playing Lottery Scratch-Off Ticket
A Havre de Grace man is paying off his bills with a five-figure win from the Maryland Lottery.
HAVRE DE GRACE, MD — A Havre de Grace man is paying his bills with his winnings after cashing in a winning lottery ticket this week. The 61-year-old bought his ticket at the BP gas station on Pulaski Highway/Route 40.
He was playing the 2020 Cash game, which costs $20 and has a grand prize of $20,200. The game first appeared in November and is centered around the theme of the new year.
“I couldn’t believe the message said I won $20,200,” the winner told Maryland Lottery officials. “I was so happy.”

The man, who works as a manufacturer, said he will pay off his bills and then put the rest of the money in savings. He is a father and grandfather who said he kept the winning ticket, which he purchased three weeks ago, in his wallet until he could go to Baltimore to claim his winnings at the Maryland Lottery headquarters.
