HdG Police To Make Rounds During National Night Out
Police encourage Havre de Grace citizens to participate and turn on porch lights.
Officers with the Havre de Grace Police Department may be stopping by a neighborhood near you on Tuesday.
In early August, police will participate in National Night Out, a longstanding crime prevention initiative.
Last year’s National Night Out—the 30th annual affair—resulted in a turnout of 37.8 million citizens across the country, according to organizers.

This year’s National Night Out is Tuesday, Aug. 5, and Havre de Grace police will visit with community groups participating in the event, which aims to strengthen relationships between law enforcement and residents, officials said.
Havre de Grace police encouraged residents to leave their porch lights on throughout the night to symbolize solidarity against crime and violence.

Is your community group participating in National Night Out? Let the Havre de Grace Police Department know at 410-939-1800 so officers can stop by and say hello. They’ll be making the rounds on bike, foot and in their patrol vehicles.
The Havre de Grace Police Department will recognize National Night Out from 5–8 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 5.
