"People say that we have the best police department," HdG police said. "We would like to say ... we have the best citizens in the world."
HAVRE DE GRACE, MD — Officials thanked the community of Havre de Grace for its show of support for the Havre de Grace Police Department this week. The department put out a call for cleaning supplies Wednesday after encountering challenges restocking. In a matter of days, officials said citizens had come to the rescue.
"Thank you to all for donating to our police department in this time of need," the police department posted on its Facebook page Friday morning. "We are grateful for your supplies, and we now have sufficient amounts to carry us through this pandemic."
In asking for donations due to the scarcity of cleaning supplies like Lysol, police had mentioned that "first responders and health care workers are drastically more susceptible to being exposed to COVID-19 than the general public."
