HdG Shed Fire Caused $5,000 in Damage, Officials Say

A neighbor discovered the blaze, which was ruled accidental, Office of the State Fire Marshal reported.

A shed fire caused $5,000 in damage Monday night in Havre de Grace, according to the Office of the State Fire Marshal.

Investigators determined a gasoline-powered generator malfunctioned in the 700 block of Lafayette Street and caused the fire.

The blaze, which began inside the 8-by-10-foot wooden shed, was ruled accidental, the fire marshal reported.

A neighbor alerted authorities about the fire at 11:35 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 14, according to the report.

Approximately 10 Susquehanna Hose Company firefighters responded and brought the blaze under control within 20 minutes, the report said.

According to the fire marshal, there were no injuries, but there was $5,000 in damage to the shed.
