HdG Under Wind Chill Advisory

A wind chill advisory is in effect for Havre de Grace until 10 a.m. Friday, according to the National Weather Service.

A wind chill advisory means that strong winds and cold temperatures may create low wind chill values that require taking precautions to prevent hypothermia and frostbite, the advisory states.

Wind chills on Friday may cause it to feel like 10 degrees below freezing, according to the advisory.

People should wear a hat and gloves if they must go outside.

Temperatures will be in the single digits and teens overnight, the weather service advised.

Wind gusts will be between 10 to 25 mph and may get up to 40 mph, according to the weather service.

Weekend Wind Watch

That National Weather Service also issued a high wind watch from Saturday night to Sunday morning.

Forecasters say damaging gusts between 40 to 60 mph may take down trees and power lines, and people are advised to prepare for outages.
