HdG Voters Approve Seeking $15M For Water Infrastructure: Report
The decision about how to finance Havre de Grace's water projects went to referendum. Here's how citizens voted.
HAVRE DE GRACE, MD — The city of Havre de Grace will be sending representatives to the bond market this year to seek $15 million to make needed changes to its water infrastructure.
There were 815 "yes" votes and 335 "no" votes once all the ballots were cast Tuesday, The Aegis reported.

Investing in aging infrastructure has been a challenge for Havre de Grace while the city covers the costs of current operations and water treatment plan improvements.

The Havre de Grace Water and Sewer Commission recommended pursuing outside funding because it had been relying upon new water connections, which has been the city's practice and is risky as fewer new connections are available, to update infrastructure.
