Hollywood Casino Offers Live Table Games, Stays Open 24/7

Hollywood Casino Perryville is now open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, officials announced Wednesday.

The new schedule came simultaneously as the Maryland Lottery authorized the Cecil County casino to run 20 live table games.

Hollwood Casino Perryville is now the first casino in the state to offer live table games after Maryland voters approved the expansion of gambling in November.

“We are very excited to be competitive in the market, and have all the offerings of a full casino," Jennifer Miglionico, Hollywood Casino's director of marketing, said in a press release Wednesday.

The casino contains an eight-table poker room near the Celebrity Sunset bar. In another area, closer to the Celebrity Bar & Grill, players will find blackjack, three and four-card poker, craps and roulette at the other dozen tables on the live gaming floor.

'With the addition of table games, we are now the whole package, with the newest, hottest slots, our wonderful Celebrity Bar & Grill restaurant and free live entertainment every weekend,” Miglionico said.

On Tuesday evening, Maryland Lottery officials visited the two live gaming areas to make sure the casino was ready to operate according to state regulations.

Approximately 150 people attended the demonstration, as lottery personnel assessed the table games, internal controls, employee training, technical systems, surveillance and security, according to the Maryland Lottery.

“The Maryland Lottery has reviewed thoroughly the operations of Hollywood Casino Perryville...” Director of the Maryland Lottery Stephen Martino said in a prepared statement Wednesday. “We believe the casino is prepared to open table games to the public.”

Anne Arundel County's Maryland Live!, which opened in June 2012, plans to add table games to its offerings in April. The Casino at Ocean Downs, which opened in January 2011, is planning to expand in the future, but lottery officials said they did not know when.
