Amanda’s Florist was honored with the annual WeddingWire Bride’s Choice Award for floral design and service. Amanda’s was recognized among the top five percent of wedding professionals in the WeddingWire community.
Swan Harbor Farm was recognized as a top venue for weddings.

“We are happy to announce that Swan Harbor Farm is among the very best wedding venues within the WeddingWire Network and we would like to thank our past clients for nominating us to receive the Bride’s Choice Awards 2011,” Event Coordinator Karen Tegges said in a news release.

In other local business news, was highlighted by the Maryland Office of Tourism as one of the top chocolate spots in Maryland.
As part of National Chocolate Month, Bomboy’s was recognized in Maryland’s “Central Region” for its chocolate, made fresh daily. A statement from the state’s Office of Tourism credits Bomboy’s two-pound box, “The General,” as the top seller.
“Many of Maryland's chocolate shops are multi-generational family businesses,” Christian Johansson, Secretary of Maryland's Department of Business and Economic Development, said in a statement. “Their longevity is attributed to quality products backed by excellent customer service, a hallmark of Maryland's specialty retailers.”
