1 Killed in I-95 Crash Near Perryville

Lane closures were in effect for nearly four hours.

One person died in a crash between two commercial vehicles Monday morning on Interstate 95 north near Perryville.

At 11:16 a.m., a dump truck and tractor-trailer collided just north of the Route 222 overpass, according to The Aegis, which reported one person died and nobody was transported.

The Cecil Whig reported that at least one of the vehicles caught fire in the crash, and the tractor-trailer was carrying jersey walls.

All lanes of I-95 were completely shut down at MD Route 222 until 12:10 p.m., when the fast lane reopened.

By 2:30 p.m., two left lanes were open, while the slow lane and the on-ramp to I-95 north from Perryville were closed. Traffic was stacked up to the Tydings Bridge toll plaza.

By 3 p.m., The Aegis reported the scene had cleared and all lanes were open.
