Battery Drive Arson Under Investigation: Fire Marshal

A Ford Explorer was set ablaze Thursday morning, the fire marshal reported.

Authorities have determined a vehicle fire that broke out in Havre de Grace Thursday morning was intentionally set, according to the Office of the State Fire Marshal.

A passerby noticed the 1996 Ford Explorer was on fire in the 1200 block of Battery Drive at approximately 3:45 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 3, the fire marshal reported.

Approximately one dozen firefighters from the Susquehanna Hose Company responded, bringing the blaze under control within 10 minutes, according to the report.

The fire started in the passenger compartment and caused $5,000 in damage, the report said.

Nobody was injured during the fire, according to the report.
