'It's a Wonderful Life' At The HdG Opera House
For the fourth consecutive year, the Lewis Lane Players are presenting this unique take on a Christmas classic.

Take yourself back to a day before television, when radio was king and the human imagination reigned. In the radio play genre, the troupe performs an old-style radio show before a “studio” audience. Just like in radio, actors may play multiple parts and the sound effects are created live before your eyes. The Lewis Lane Players are proud to continue this holiday tradition and bring you this Christmas classic for the fourth consecutive year, but for the first time in the beautifully renovated Cultural Center at the Havre de Grace Opera House (121 N. Union Avenue).
George Bailey grew up a wide-eyed dreamer. He had grand plans to travel the world and build great things. But one circumstance after another kept pulling him back to the small town of his childhood, Bedford Falls. George constantly puts others before himself. But when his self-sacrificing lifestyle causes everything around him to collapse,he finds himself standing on a bridge contemplating ending his own life. Only the intervention of Angel Second Class Clarence Oddbody, who shows George what the world would be like if he had never been born, makes George realize just what a wonderful life he has.
Performances are on Friday, December 8 at 8:00 pm and Saturday, December 9 at 2:00 pm and 8:00 pm. Tickets are $12 for adults, $10 for children and seniors (plus processing fees) and are available at hdgoperahouse.org.
