John E. Parker, 82, Passes Away

A Havre de Grace High School graduate from the class of 1952 passed away last week.

John E. Parker of North East died peacefully at his home on July 24, according to his obituary; the former Havre de Grace resident was 82.

Parker was born in Natural Bridge, VA, and after graduating from Havre de Grace High School, he worked for 39 years as a civilian with the Maryland National Guard.

He was known for his penmanship, spent 50 years as a notary public, was a member of the North East VFW Post 6027’s Men’s Auxiliary and the Eder-George Club of North East and more than anything, loved spending time with his family, according to his obituary.

The North East VFW Post 6027 will hold a memorial service to celebrate the life of John Parker from 1 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 3. The post is located at 815 Turkey Point Road in North East.
