K-9 Officer Joins Havre de Grace Police Force
Meet the newest member of the Havre de Grace Police Department!

HAVRE DE GRACE, MD — The Havre de Grace Police Department announced it has a new four-legged officer on staff. After graduating from narcotics detection and patrol schools, this pooch is ready to hit the streets of Havre de Grace.
K-9 Ikar will be working with handler Private First Class Jeremy Lathroum, the department announced on its Facebook page, stating: "We are happy to add K-9 Ikar to the Havre de Grace Police Department family!"
The Havre de Grace Police Department has two K-9s authorized to detect narcotics and track missing or wanted persons. According to police, the K-9 unit in Havre de Grace began in 1963 and is the longest standing division of its kind in Harford County. The dogs are reportedly paid for with money seized from drug investigations.
