Kayaker Rescued From Sand Island, Officials Say
A kayaker in distress was reported near Havre de Grace Wednesday afternoon.
CHESAPEAKE BAY, MD — A kayaker was rescued Wednesday afternoon near Sand Island, officials said. She declined medical assistance, according to the Susquehanna Hose Company.
The boater was reported as "in distress" in the Chesapeake Bay before 4:20 p.m, fire officials said.
The Susquehanna Hose Company's fire boat reported having "eyes on the kayaker," who was in a back channel, before 4:20 p.m.

One of Cecil County's water rescue fleet rescued the kayaker and took her to City Park, where officials said she said she did not need any emergency medical care.
