HdG War Hero Passes Away at 39
Memorial services are planned in Havre de Grace and Aberdeen.
Kelly Freeman Keck, of Havre de Grace, passed away March 13 at the age of 39.
Keck served in the U.S. Marines for four years and later enlisted with the U.S. Army, receiving a Purple Heart for his service in Afghanistan, according to his obituary.
He worked at Aberdeen Proving Ground with the Equal Opportunity Employment Office and was junior vice at the Joseph L. Davis American Legion Post 47 and a member of the VFW Post 8126, according to his obituary, which said he pursued hobbies including model airplanes, football, baseball, fishing and woodworking in his free time.
Keck left behind many loved ones, including wife Oxana Keck and daughter Zoya Kelly Keck.
A funeral service is scheduled for 1 p.m. on March 19 at Zellman Funeral Home, 123 S. Washington Street, in Havre de Grace.
There will also be a memorial service at 9:30 a.m. on March 24 at Aberdeen Proving Ground in the U.S. Army Test and Evaluation Command (ATEC) Atrium, Building 2202. Contact the ATEC chaplain at 410-861-9405 for more information.
Interment will be held at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date, his obituary stated.
