Lin's Hibachi Awaits Approvals
The Japanese restaurant is dotting the i's and crossing the t's before opening.

The hibachi restaurant on US Route 40 has been under construction for months in Havre de Grace and the owners plan to open in the coming weeks.
A Lin's Hibachi representative was scheduled to appear before the Harford County Liquor Control Board on Jan. 8, but postponed the appearance because the owners were "still waiting for health department approval," Liquor Board Administrator Judith Powell said.
Powell said that hopefully, the business would get its approval from the Harford County Health Department by the board's next meeting, on Jan. 22.
This was not the first time Lin's Hibachi had been on the liquor board's agenda to apply for a liquor license. The restaurant owners also postponed after being scheduled to appear before the board on Dec. 11 and and Nov. 13.
Initially, the restaurant owners planned to open Lin's Hibachi in October or November but the timeframe has shifted.
The restaurant posted the following update on its Facebook page in mid December: "After months of hard work, we finally are at the end of construction, now we are waiting on inspections to pass and we should be ready to bring the first modern Japanese cuisine to HdG. Thanks everyone for waiting so patiently."
