Little Warriors Marching in Step
As high school Warriors roll to state title game, Parks and Rec squad heads to eight-team state tournament in a location to-be-determined.

The Jarrettsville 9-11 team is probably very glad it won't have to see Havre de Grace any more.
Havre de Grace handled Jarrettsville twice during the regular season and didn't have much trouble the third time. The Warriors rolled to a 30-12 rout of Jarrettsville a few weeks ago in the Upper Chesapeake Youth Football League championship game at Havre de Grace High School.
The Warriors improved to 11-1 this season with the title game victory. Their offense was difficult to stop because they can do a variety of things. Havre de Grace will run some Wing-T as well as the spread and the Jet.

The bottom line is they'll pass and run, which makes it tough for teams to defend them. They got a little help from a lot of people, most notably running back Joshua Penn. He scored four of the team's touchdowns—all on the ground.
"He's a very good offensive talent," Havre de Grace coach Brian Eberhardt said. "He was a tremendous amount of our offense this year."

Quarterback Jack Eberhardt got the game's first touchdown, scoring on a 25-yard run. He got flushed out of the pocket, pulled the ball down and took off for the score.
But Penn also helped with a number of big plays. He caught a long pass that put the Warriors on the 1-yard line, and then ran it in for the score.
"Our offense was pretty prolific this year because we were able to go to that spread," said Brian Eberhardt. "When teams began teeing off on Josh, we could throw the ball."
The Warriors also got good work from several other players. Running back/corner back Jordan Hawthorne helped them on both sides of the ball. The defensive line was anchored by Dominic Clarke, who played nose guard. Clarke played tackle on offense and was a big part of that line.
Coach Eberhardt's team isn't finished yet. They've been invited to play in a state championship tournament, starting on Dec. 5, but hadn't received details of who and where they'll be playing yet. It's an eight-team competition.
