What to do on a Friday night? Well, how about going out to the movies? I know what you’re saying. “Isn’t that a little cliché? After all, isn’t that what everyone does on a Friday night? The theater will be packed!” I’m not talking about a journey to the closest multiplex. In fact, this night out wouldn’t even require you to leave Havre de Grace.
This Friday night, January 10, 2014 at 7:00 pm, KEG Productions, the film-making division of the Havre de Grace Drama Guild, is showing all four of its short films from the past year and half of production, including the premiere of its latest short, "Moving On." In the fall of 2012, the Havre de Grace Drama Guild started teaching aspiring filmmakers the art of movie production. They have learned screenwriting, lighting, sound, cinematography, acting, directing, stunt work, editing and more. Since that time KEG Productions has held two 8 week film workshops and produced four short films ranging in length from about 5 to 12 minutes each. This Friday night you can come out and see all four absolutely free at the Havre de Grace Activity Center at 351 Lewis Lane (next to the middle school). The screening will last about an hour and a half and be held in the multi-purpose room. Free snacks will be provided. Trailers for the films can be seen online at http://www.hdgdramatroop.com/filmcatalogue.html. Descriptions for each are below. So let’s all go out to the movies!!

This modern tale is inspired by Hans Christian Anderson’s classic tale of “The Little Match Girl.” Is it possible that we get so caught up in the hustle and bustle of Christmas that we overlook those who should really be getting our attention?

This was KEG Productions’ inaugural entry into the 48 Hour Film Project. The film was written, filmed and edited all over the course of a single weekend in June, 2013. It is a drama about a young girl dealing with the loss of a parent. It previously screened in July at the Charles Theater in downtown Baltimore.

Friday night is the premiere of KEG’s latest film, produced as part of the fall 2013 workshop. This story follows the family and friends of a young woman severely injured in an accident and what they say in the hospital when they think she can’t hear.
