Main Street To Change Managers Again

Erika Quesenbery will resign later this month; organization begins search for her replacement.

Havre de Grace Main Street is seeking a third manager in less than 12 months.

In an email to organization members Thursday morning, Main Street President stated Erika Quesenbery announced her resignation, effective Dec. 16.

Quesenbery on July 18. She replaced Diana Broomell, who was forced to resign April 6. The group supports downtown business initiatives and organizes a number of events focused on small business and the arts in Havre de Grace.

Smith credited Quesenbery for her efforts in helping Havre de Grace Main Street attain the status of .

"We are so very appreciative and feel an enormous amount of gratitude for all that Erika has brought to our organization," Smith said in the email to members—including Patch.

The manager is the only paid position in the organization. Broomell told Patch after her departure that s for the 32-hour-a-week position.

Smith said the organization's "selection committee is moving forward to look for a new manager and will be meeting very soon to expedite this process."

Main Street is a non-profit, volunteer-based organization that, according to its website, focuses on “revitalization, business development, arts and entertainment, and business retention in the historical downtown district.” Main Street hosts the in October, and events throughout the year.

In the email, Smith also said:

Erika has made a [commitment] to Main Street to complete whatever is outstanding in regards to the GAMSA application for final submission.  She has worked so very diligently on this and any other project presented to her during her time with us.  We understand her decision to take another position and wish her all the best.  Erika has also voiced her continued passion for HDG Main Street, Inc. and our wonderful community.  Erika has said that she may be interested in remaining with Main Street in a board of directors position, once she is settled into her new job.  We are looking forward to a continued relationship with her and welcome her to any volunteer function that she may decide in the future. As with all of our volunteers, we are an organization in which our [strengths] come from our volunteers. 

Smith, previously the vice president, was . Charlie Hiner replaced Smith as vice president.

Smith had been serving as acting president as president Bill Price was in Florida for business. Price , but retained a seat on the Main Street Board.
