Make Plans to See the Passion Play at Trinity Church
On March 20 and 25, Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Joppa will again be presenting its renowned Passion Play
For over two decades, Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Joppa, Maryland has presented its annual Passion Play, depicting the events leading up to and including the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. The play draws you in like no other as it envelops you in the world on ancient Palestine while the action occurs not only on stage, but also all around you. This high production value, emotionally powerful production is an event to be placed on your calendar each year as an Easter tradition.
The performances are absolutely free. Seating is by general admission, so arrive early to get the seats you prefer. There are two performances. On Palm Sunday, March 20 at 6:00, the entire play is performed, including the climactic resurrection scene. On Good Friday, March 25 at 7:00 pm, the performance concludes after the crucifixion and burial, with the resurrection scene performed at all of Trinity Lutheran's Easter services.
Trinity Lutheran has three worship services on Easter weekend:
Saturday, March 26 at 5:07 pm (Contemporary)
Sunday, March 27 at 9:00 am (Heritage)
Sunday, March 27 at 11:00 am (Celebration)
Child care up to age 4 is provided at both the Palm Sunday and Good Friday performances.
Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church is located at 1100 Philadelphia Road, Joppa, MD 21085. Take exit 74 off I-95 and head south on Mountain Road. Turn left onto Philadelphia Road (route 7).
