Mayor Announces Plans to Run Again in 2013 Election
Wayne Dougherty will run for a fourth term as the mayor of Havre de Grace.
Mayor Wayne Dougherty said Monday that he plans to run again in the May election.
"It's the number of projects we still have going—I'd like to see them through," Dougherty said to media after the March 4 City Council meeting.
Dougherty mentioned the potential acquisition of property near the lighthouse, plans for Lilly Run and renovation of the opera house. In addition, he said he was still working on four major projects he couldn't discuss at the moment.

Four positions will be on this year's ballot in Havre de Grace. In addition to the mayor's office, three seats on the City Council will be up for a vote—those of incumbents John Correri, Randy Craig and Barbara Wagner.
None of the council members has stated publicly plans for the upcoming election.
Dougherty said he planned to file Tuesday.
In 2011, he beat former City Council member Mitch Shank by more than 400 votes. In the 2009 election, he ran unopposed. In 2007, he defeated Gary Wasielewski, John Correri and Fred Cullum, topping Wasielewski by 49 votes. Cullum said he will run in 2013 but did not specify for which office.
When running for his third term in 2011, Dougherty told Patch that being mayor was a "full-time job" to which he dedicates 60 to 70 hours weekly. His major push has been for economic stability.
"I think about the taxpayers," Dougherty said Monday night. "I want to give them the least to have to worry about as far as the city is concerned."
