HAVRE DE GRACE, MD - From Havre De Grace Housing Authority: The Havre de Grace Housing Authority (HDGHA) announces that Toni Saunders has been hired as the Community Outreach and Partnership Coordinator for the organization. The new position was created to foster and expand connections with businesses, non-profits and support groups to help HDGHA residents and other low-income families in Harford County reduce their need for subsidized programs and services.

Providing counseling, education and training to facilitate economic self-sufficiency is a critical part of the HDGHA mission. Saunders will work to establish new alliances with private companies, public assistance agencies, churches, healthcare providers, donors and volunteers in order to offer an even broader range of no-cost or low-cost services to HDGHA residents and non-resident program participants, and further support their progress towards financial independence. In addition to her duties as a staff member with HDGHA Saunders will also serve as a volunteer for The SUCCESS Project, its non-profit affiliate.

Saunders has extensive experience as a service coordinator helping at-risk youth and families. She was most recently a Clinic Coordinator for the Kennedy Krieger Institute and a Service Coordination Associate at The Coordinating Center; positions where she put disabled clients in touch with healthcare services and the affordable housing they needed to live a meaningful life as part of the community.
