Meet Melanie

Our journey from 0 to 5 kids is one of hope, love, and forever family.  We always knew we wanted a large family and we had a heart for kids who needed a loving home.  We decided to adopt a sibling group, so that our kids can stay with their siblings—a reason with far more value than we would ever know.  We were blessed with four children in 2010, siblings from Colombia, ages 7, 5, 4 and 1.  A short 6 months later we learned they had an older brother, age 10, who had become available for adoption.  We made the journey to adopt him in 2012.  Reuniting them was a day I will never forget, one of great joy and excitement.

Life with 5 kids is busy and fast-paced; seeing the confidence in my children’s faces and their love for each other and us is priceless. Keeping siblings together is a blessing to them as well as to us.  They have adjusted very well to their new home and new parents.  A key piece is that they were not alone in the transition.   We encourage others to consider siblings and take the leap of faith.  Develop strong support systems and meet other families who have been down the same path to encourage and support you along the way.   A phrase we often say to our kids “Te amo ayer, hoy, mañana y siempre!”  I love you yesterday, today, tomorrow, and forever!  Please look at our blog and feel free to message me with more questions.   www.matthewsadoption.blogspot.com
