HdG Native Named Scholar-Athlete by National Fastpitch Coaches Association

Academic and athletic prowess earned one Harford Tech grad special recognition.

A Havre de Grace woman was recently honored for her success on the softball field and in the classroom.

The National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) named Kelsi Ludwigsen of Havre de Grace an All-America Scholar Athlete for the 2012–2013 academic year.

Ludwigsen, who graduated from Harford Tech, is a junior biology major at Felician College in New Jersey.

The All-America Scholar-Athlete Award is given to players who post a 3.50 or better grade-point average for the academic year which includes that spring's playing season, according to a press release from Felician College.

Ludwigsen achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.8, the release stated. She is in the pre-med track at Felician, where she is also a certified personal trainer, according to her bio. Before playing as a catcher for Felician College, she was a member of the Maryland Legends.
