New Device Causes Traffic Shift On Ontario Street

Police said that a new traffic control device has been installed.

HAVRE DE GRACE, MD — Have you noticed anything new around Ontario Street? There is a traffic control device that has been installed to keep traffic flowing in one direction: right.

Drivers on Ontario Street can only turn right at Ohio Street while headed toward MD 155 in Havre de Grace.

To help people get used to the new traffic control device, the Havre de Grace Police Department issued the following guidance:

  • Ohio Street has a left turn lane for those headed toward Route 155.
  • Ohio Street drivers headed toward Route 40, do not use the left turn lane toward Ontario. This is illegal.

"Havre de Grace officers will be aggressively watching that area and stopping violators that break the law," the Havre de Grace Police Department said in a statement.
