October First Friday In Havre de Grace Is Last Of Season

This will be the last First Friday in Havre de Grace of 2017.

HAVRE DE GRACE, MD – This Friday is the final First Friday of the season in Havre de Grace.

Parts of downtown Havre de Grace will be closed to vehicular traffic for the pedestrian-friendly event. The street festival will include live music, a classic car show, outdoor dining, unique vendors, and kids zone, organizers say.

There will also be special guests and themes during the October First Friday.

  • A "Salute to Safety" is planned by the Susquehanna Hose Company, which will have its engine, dive unit, rescue truck and mascot, Marshall, in tow.
  • Those planning weddings will not want to miss the Havre de Grace Bridal Fair, which will be happening on Saint John Street.
  • The Upper Chesapeake Foundation is "painting the town pink" and invites people at the event to wear pink to show their support in the fight against breast cancer.

First Friday is from 5 to 9:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 6, in downtown Havre de Grace. Parts of Saint John Street will be closed for the affair.
