Officials Celebrate New Havre de Grace Royal Farms

Royal Farms officially cut the ribbon on its new Havre de Grace store on Pulaski Highway this week and donated to a host of local nonprofit organizations.

The convenience store had a soft opening in January, without much fanfare other than free drinks for the first few days.

At the grand opening event on Monday, Feb. 23, a ribbon was officially cut and Royal Farms led a construction tour to showcase sustainable practices used to design the store, located where the Bridge Diner used to be.

Attendees at the grand opening included Havre de Grace city officials, Harford County economic development personnel, construction teams that worked on the project and community members, according to a statement from the Havre de Grace Department of Economic Development.

Royal Farms has 162 stores spanning Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania and Delaware.

Whenever it celebrates a grand opening, Royal Farms has a tradition of donating to local organizations “as a way to thank our new neighbors for the warm welcome we receive,” according to the company.

These were the recipients of donations at the grand opening, Havre de Grace economic development officials said: Boys and Girls Clubs of Harford County, Food Bank at St. John’s Episcopal Church, Friends of Concord Point Lighthouse, Havre de Grace Ambulance Corps, The Kitchen Door (Food Bank at St. Patrick’s), Harford County Parks and Recreation (for Havre de Grace Community Center), Susquehanna Hose Company and Susquehanna Museum at the Lock House.

“The new [Route] 40 Royal Farms store compl[e]ments the other Royal Farms located in the local area on Revolution Street in HdG and [Route] 40 in Perryville,” the Havre de Grace Office of Economic Development said in a statement.
