Pellet Stove Fire in Havre de Grace Caused $10,000 in Damage: Officials

The Office of the State Fire Marshal ruled the fire that broke out Thursday night near Bulle Rock as accidental.

HAVRE DE GRACE, MD — A pellet stove was responsible for a fire Thursday night near Bulle Rock, according to the Office of the State Fire Marshal.

At 6:22 p.m., the owner of the home in the 2100 block of Sherwood Lane alerted authorities to the blaze at the single-story home, the fire marshal said.

More than 30 firefighters contained the fire to the exterior of the home within minutes, officials reported.

The fire marshal ruled the blaze accidental, determining that a pellet stove had ignited leaves.

While nobody was injured, the fire caused $10,000 in structural damage, according to the fire marshal.
