Propane Leak Near Aberdeen Prompted Road Closure
A section of Route 40 was closed for three hours, Harford County officials said.

A propane leak shut down US Route 40 on Wednesday night near Aberdeen, according to the Harford County Volunteer Fire and EMS Association.
At 9:52 p.m. on Wednesday, the Aberdeen Fire Department responded to the 1500 block of South Philadelphia Road for a leak from a 500-gallon tank, the association reported.
Route 40 was shut down between Spesutia Road and Mitchell Lane, according to the report.

By 11:53 p.m., the leak had been handled, the association said.
At 12:55 a.m. on Thursday, the road had reopened, according to the report.
