Fire Boat Comes To The Rescue On Joe K Trail: Susquehanna Hose

Emergency officials are converging in Havre de Grace Tuesday afternoon to rescue a woman requiring medical attention.

HAVRE DE GRACE, MD — Officials said a woman was transported by fire boat when she required medical attention Tuesday afternoon in Havre de Grace. Before 1:15 p.m., the Susquehanna Hose Company reported that its boat, Marine 552, was taking the woman to a local marina.

Once on land, the Havre de Grace Ambulance Corps would take her to the hospital for treatment, officials said.

The call for help was received by Havre de Grace emergency personnel before 1 p.m. The Susquehanna Hose Company said it was dispatched to the call along with the Havre de Grace Ambulance trail for a woman who was described as a female trauma patient in needed of help along the Joe K Trail.

The 1.5-mile trail runs along the Lower Susquehanna Heritage Greenway, connecting with the Havre de Grace loop trail near the Lock House and the Mason-Dixon Trail System.

Initially, the ATV from the Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company and the fire boat were called to respond, according to the hose company.

By 1:15 p.m., emergency officials said the woman had been loaded onto the fire boat and was headed for the marina, where the ambulance would meet them.
