Rose Ireland, 90, of Havre de Grace

Rose Jane Ireland, of Havre de Grace, passed away on Nov. 13, 2015. She was 90.

Mrs. Ireland was born in Havre de Grace to William T. Pyle and Edna M. Fantom Pyle. She was the loving wife of the late Robert H. Ireland, devoted mother of Cathy J. Edmonds of Converse, Texas, and W. Neal Mills of Havre de Grace, Md. She was the adored grandmother of Candice Lyons, Regina Overbay, Christopher Mills, and Travis Mills, and great-grandmother of Tristan Steever, Jacob Lyons, Madison Overbay, Gaby Mills and Aiva Mills. Mrs. Ireland was the sister of William R. Pyle, Elizabeth Pyle, and the late Mildred Ann Wirsing. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Ireland was a member of Havre de Grace United Methodist Church and was a member and Past-President for the Ladies’ Auxiliary for two terms at the American Legion Post 47. She was also a volunteer at Grace Place.

Mrs. Ireland loved to volunteer and she loved cooking, and often cooked for large groups, especially at the American Legion. She enjoyed boating and was a supporter of pet rescues, the Harford County Humane Society and veterans charity causes.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, Nov. 19, 2015, at 11 a.m. at Angel Hill Cemetery. Pastor Norman Obenshain will officiate.
